DIRECTORS STATEMENT:

Bleed is a film about family, made by family. Starring our parents and two actors we grew up idolizing as artists, you could say this film has been in development our entire lives. Shot on virtually no budget over the course of ten days, we endured multiple COVID outbreaks, a trip to the hospital, and the devastating loss of one of our beloved executive producers, Kelly Moll. The fact that this film exists at all is, to us, a miracle.
We had no margin for error, no backup funds, and relied entirely on the incredibly hard-working cast and crew we assembled to bring it to life. Our goal with Bleed was simple: to create a thrilling chamber piece with the best actors we know, using the limited resources we had. Through the hardships of making it, we feel we’ve created something not only tense and gripping, but also deeply emotionally resonant.
Everyone involved gave this film everything they had, and that energy is tangible in the final product. Bleed is our love letter to independent cinema. It’s an ode to all creatives who make do with whatever they have. And above all, it is dedicated to our dear friend and collaborator, Kelly Moll.
